TAB/TABLE version
I haven't found a way to produce usable results on those few browsers
(such as UdiWWW) that implement both TABLEs and TABs. The two
techniques below degrade in different ways on UdiWWW,
but neither of them seemed
to form the basis of anything useful. However, such browsers are quite
rare, whereas Lynx still has a solid base of users, so the technique
does seem worth considering in appropriate situations.
Note that on Lynx if the table is wider than the terminal window then
the result is going to be a mess.
You'd best design within the limitations of the default 80-char window,
I'm afraid.
